Hunting Blogger Puts Magnum Gear to the Test

When we launched our blog a few months back, you might remember that we also held a huge giveaway for blog subscribers to celebrate this new venture. When we randomly selected winner Kevin Paulson, we had no idea at the time that he was the guy behind a pretty popular hunting blog called HuntingLife.com. As part of the package, Kevin got to choose $1,000 in Magnum boots, apparel and accessories.

We were fortunate to have Kevin not only wear-test and enjoy the gear, but leave a couple of reviews as well. Kevin’s first review took a look at our Spider 8.1 Tac Spec HPi boots:

“The Spider 8.1′s are light, breathable and extremely comfortable.  They are light enough to run in and have enough give in the sole to be comfortable enough to wear all day whether you are in the field or on the street. They also look attractive and provide the kind of support you need in your ankles when the going gets rough.”

To check out more of Kevin’s thoughts on these boots, head over to his blog here.

In addition to the boots, Kevin also received his fair share of other goods, including our RD apparel, socks and Cardio 4:SYS training shoes.

“I opted for the SF-3 in Desert Tan and boy am I glad I did… These socks are pretty much heaven.  The toes and heal have a slight bit of padding, the socks breath well but what I like most is the compression strap through the middle of the foot.  This compression strap is a slight bit lighter and breathes easier and keeps the socks tight to my feet.  I will absolutely be wearing these in all but the most extreme conditions for quite some time.”

We appreciate Kevin’s honest reviews, and encourage you to check out his website for hunting and conservation news, gear reviews, hunting podcasts, Pro staff journal and more.
